My design practice started by building websites in the late 90s when the internet was young and full of wonder. In the early 2000s, the web became the platform. In the 2010s, mobile and touch transformed the web and our everyday reality: we pick up our phones roughly every 7 minutes to interact with one of a few apps – the everyday things someone is continuously designing to shape the experience of our lives.
My fascination with technology started when I was a kid, I grew up on the internet, and my journey as an immigrant to Hong Kong was enabled by the transformative power of digital. Over the last two decades, I have helped design and build a handful of apps across the industries like logistics, real estate, smart homes, insurance, co-working, and others. I worked with both startups and corporations, always on the innovation side.
I love gathering teams, understanding the customer's needs, and building meaningful experiences. Seeing a team's success and the personal growth it brings to the members is my source of meaning.
I never enjoyed traditional education: it is slow and detached from practice. I found doing first and catching up on theory later more practical. In 2017 I designed my first UX course and found so much joy in creating learning experiences for my students. Today the alumni of my courses work in many startups in Hong Kong and globally.
